I was born a teacher. I always loved to teach others.Naturally, I entered the teaching system, and taught special education, and was a reading specialist for 11 years.
I loved teaching and working with children, and I reached burn out while teaching more than once. My anxiety reached an all time high. I was fueled by my accomplishments, so I kept putting myself deeper into my work. I was drowning.
I began to practice yoga and mindfulness. Not without much reluctance and a fight. I felt like I had no time, and seriously my racing mind HATED it. Slowing down my mind was much needed, and also SUPER uncomfortable.
However, after each session, I would feel different. I felt lighter and at ease. I had clarity, I was much more patient and kinder with my family. I was a much happier person. Life didn't feel like it was squashing me anymore. My husband was literally begging me to go to more mindfulness and yoga classes.
I now teach mindfulness to youth, educators and parents because it has literally saved my life. My favorite part is helping people find ways to practice that work best for them. There are so many ways to practice mindfulness!
